Kabini bi ma se

Hello, has anyone else heard this expression? kabini bi ma se (for a long time now, until today)

Yes, it is a common expression. @Christy and I translated it as “For a long time now” in our interpretation of Ami Yèrèwolo’s “I Bamba” (though she uses the French word depuis instead of kabini):

Depuis bi ma se
For a long time now

An bɛ sɛbɛ kɛ
We’ve been hard at work (Lit. ‘We have been doing seriousness’)

As you note, it literally means something like ‘Since today has not arrived’.
