How does one nest verbs in Bambara?
A normal modal (correct me if I’m wrong) goes
[Subject] + [modal] + ka + [dir. obj] + [verb].
(source: Constructions with two verbs (modals) using “ka”)
Example:
Denmisɛnw ka kan ka nɔnɔ min.
The children should drink milk.
(ka kan = should; man kan = should not)
What if you want to say “The children should try to drink milk.”?
