The eternal city

In the AKT Discord server, a student recently asked:

I’m from Rome, “the eternal city”. How would you translate it into Bambara?

How about this:

dugu banbali

The word banbali transates as something like “never-ending”.

It comes from the following

  • ban = to end
  • -bali = negative participle, which here can be translated as something like “-less”
[It is covered in the Adv. Beg. chapter “Ɲɛnafin]

banbali

“endless”
