Entry:
táare-taare
Gloss:
hurrah; hooray
Notes:
I heard the interjection “Taare-taare” (táare) used on VOA Bambara to mean something like “Hurrah!” or “Hooray!”
The context was a journalist narrating that the population of a town would now be able to say “Taare-taara!” because of some infrastructure improvements that would provide reliable water access. You can listen to or hear the clip here.
It is listed as a one-word interjection in Bamadaba.
