I’m finding this word reoccuring often in Malian songs, but I don’t find it in the dictionary…

“X man ɲi” means “X is not good” / “X is bad”. The words “man ɲi” are often transcribed by French-speakers as “magni.” A phonetic/anglophone transcription might read “man nyi”.


Uaaa thank you @BruceWhitehouse !!! Now it makes sense, all Malian songs I listen to, if they have this word in their title, it’s written as “magni”… Now I know, thank you!
