How to Use the Top Menu (Navigation Bar/Nav Bar)

When you visit the Forum, you’ll see a menu at the top of the screen. This menu is sometimes called the Top Menu, Navigation Bar, or Nav Bar. It’s the main way you move around the Forum and discover new discussions.

Where to Find the Navigation Bar

  • On a computer (desktop):
The navigation bar is a row of words or buttons at the very top of the screen. Common options are “Categories,” “Latest,” “New,” and “Unread.”

  • On a phone or tablet (mobile):
Tap the up-down arrow symbol (:up_down_arrow:) at the top of your screen to open the navigation bar. The same options will be listed inside, such as “Categories,” “Latest,” “New,” and “Unread.”

What Does “Latest” Mean?

  • The “Latest” button or link shows you the most recently active discussion topics on the site.
  • Any time someone posts a new reply, that topic moves to the top of this list.
  • You’ll see the “freshest” conversations first, so you know what people are talking about right now.

How to Use the Navigation Bar (Nav Bar)

  1. Open the Navigation Bar

    • Desktop: Just look for the row at the top and click the option you want.
    • Mobile: Tap the up-down arrow symbol (:up_down_arrow:) at the top, then choose the option you want.
  2. Change It Anytime

    • Explore freely—choosing different navigation bar options only changes what you see, not the site for others.

Quick Example

  • Want to know what’s new or what people are talking about right now?
Open the nav bar and click or tap “Latest.”
  • Prefer to see discussions by category?
Click or tap “Categories” from the navigation menu.

Summary

  • The navigation bar, top menu, or nav bar helps you find your way around the Forum.
  • “Latest” always shows the most recent activity.

Good instruction. I always use “latest”.

Oh cool! I basically never use it haha except now that I’m testing things out :upside_down_face:

It seems to me now, that the “latest” category is not not sorted by time. Did this change?
