Is this a question about the exact meaning or how to use this expression?

It literally means that “we are in each other’s hands/arms” and is often translated as On est ensemble (‘We are together’) in French.

Yes, I am wondering when we will use this sentence.

To my mind, it’s often used when someone is expressing the idea of “We can/should count one another” or “We are in the same boat” or even “Let’s remain in solidarity with one another”.
